| Why a sling?
A baby
sling is a fantastic help for mom or baby's caretaker! Keep
baby snug and secure while on the move or nurse on the go
discreetly in a versatile and light baby sling.
Slings
are much more comfortable to wear than many carriers. They
do not have all the buckles and clips to attach. They also
distribute the weight throughout the fabric across your back
and on your hip putting less strain on the user. If you find
yourself walking the halls late at night or during the day
for that matter :) A sling can help save your back and arms
while you try and calm a fussy baby. Most babies also love
the snug feeling a sling can give.
Adjustable unpadded baby slings are very light and thin. They
can fit in the diaper bag or a purse. They are safe for up to
35 pounds eliminating the need to purchase another carrier as
your child grows.
Slings are easy to put on. Once you have it threaded you simply
put it on like a sash and then adjust baby to the position you
want to use. There is a learning curve when you first start out,
but once you get the hang of it it is quick and easy.
They are also great for shopping carts that have lost their straps
or just giving more support in a cart.
Slings allow a nursing mother to nurse while doing other things
in public and to do it with a maximum of privacy. Once baby is
in the sling and latched on mom can toss the tail of the sling
over baby and nurse with confidence.

Care of your sling
Unless noted
otherwise, your sling can be machine washed in the gentle cycle
and tumbled dry on the low setting. All slings have been pre-washed
to avoid shrinkage. It is important for safety that you inspect
your sling making sure it is free from tears and/or damage each
time you use it. For your Fun N Sun beach sling,
Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Do not dry-clean. Use cool
iron if needed. Do not bleach.
Disclaimers
for our litigious society aka covering Slingmama.com's posterior
rules.
Under normal use using common sense you will find your Slingmama.com
sling to be a quick, easy, and comfortable carrier. However we
still like to cover the safety aspect.
Please use
common sense when using your sling.
We are not responsible for accidents that occur
while using your sling.
*Always
check to make sure that the fabric, seams, and rings are in good
condition. Never use a sling that is torn or showing wear.
* You are responsible for the items that you clip/attach to your
sling. We do not recommend attaching items that are not safe or
are heavy and could cause injury to your baby or toddler while
using your sling.
*Our
baby slings are for use with babies and toddlers up to 35 pounds.
Although the rings are designed to carry a lot of weight the fabric
is safe only up to 35 pounds.
* Do not
cook near or stand next to open flame when wearing your sling.
If you or anyone in your proximity smokes beware of the proximity
of the sling to the cigarette. Slings are not flame retardant.
*Make sure
you have a hold of baby when leaning over. Remember your child
is not tied in so hold on to your child when leaning over or making
sudden moves. It is also a good idea to keep at least one hand
on your baby if you are new to using a sling. Double check that
you have your child securely in the sling for each position before
you start walking around. If you are new to using a sling you
may want to enlist the help of someone or get your child into
position while sitting down. Once you get the hang of it though;
you will be able to do this all by yourself in just a few seconds
really.
*Be aware of the environment inside the sling for your child.
Your child's face and mouth should not be pressed against the
fabric. Your body heat combined with your child's body heat inside
the sling can get warm on a hot day. If your child is sweating
or appears hot you may need to switch to a different position
or take your child out of the sling. On hot days we often prefer
to use the Fun n' Sun beach sling because it is a mesh like material
that has UVA and UVB protection.
*From personal
experience we suggest you take note of where your new boundaries
are while wearing your baby. Remember when you were pregnant and
bumped your extended belly into the counter when you reached up
for something. It is easy enough to bang your child against a
counter or door frame when you are distracted.
*Fun n'
Sun Beach sling. This sling is made of Solarveil fabric which
blocks harmful UVA and UVB rays from the sun. A single layer blocks
70-80%, double layer blocks 90-95%. This sling does not take the
place of proper use of appropriate sunscreen, use of sun hats,
and sun glasses. Please take appropriate measures to protect your
baby or toddler against sunburn and exposure to UVA and UVB.
